Oh i thought you had a small gas motor.I would never venture very far out there with a battery motor especially in a heavy drift boat.

I appreciate that but I have some and am going to see about picking up a few more. Unfortunately funds are far and few between. I am STILL unemployed.:(

Being unemployed sucks. you have all this time to fish but never can afford to.

Aint that the truth. I managed to go on my annual deer hunting trip over east last month and spent about everything I had. Now I am scraping up pennies. LOL

Yeah i don't know what im am going to do. My unemployement extension runs out in december. We got a roomate and I'm still broke and I have to starrrt alcohol treatment this week. Think I might try to be a flagger or something. Thing is I can't drive until january. And its too late to go back to school. If you hear of a good job let me know anything ove $11 an hour pays better that the government.

There is a lot of good info here but I also have a map that some of you may find useful. It seems to be pretty accurate when I compare it to the info I have received from other members here.

Not sure. I believe there is a steelhead run in the lake also.

The steelhead run is almost non existant, essentially extinct.

Could you email that map to me? Might be able to offer you a boat ride in return. I'm sure we'll be hitting Siltcoos or Tahkenitch next month.
Thanks,Dan

Can anyone recommend some good plug colors for the Siltcoos coho? My dad and I are gonna hit it Sunday. I dont have any plugs whatsoever so was gonna pick up some wigglers from bimart. Are the regular size wigglers what I want? I was gonna grab like five plugs and a couple #5 bluefox in orange and pink. Since plugs are like $5 a pop I can only grab like 4 or 5 being on a tight college budget. Thanks for the help guys and to Jeannajigs for starting this thread. I have fished the Siltcoos quite a bit just never for coho so this will be interesting to see how we do Sunday.

I believe in some of the earlier posts from Jeanna she has named her favorite colors she has fished with for last couple years I would go with them with out any fear

Yes, she is the Siltcoos and Tahkenitch master.

ypu want the normal size storms or brads. Think pink red orange white silver black. then buy plugs. jeanna must have everyone ever made but I have like 7 or so and feal confident with a few spinners on the side. I will see you out there on sunday for sure. Look for a 12' valco yelling fish on all day! lol seriously though good luck man.

Sounds like the same dream we all have!
I am hoping to be down there this weekend also. Probably won't know until last minute though. The "Lily Pad" is unmistakable. Holler at me if you see me!

Note the OFF sticker on the back.

Theres no salmon in that lake.... why u misdirecting people jenna....ehehehe ;)

Lol no fish at all :D I recommend size 4 spinners if you're goin' with the run of the mill blue fox variety. Chartreuse, pink, and orange. same colors work for plugs. I have in my arsenal every color combination under the sun, but i religiously run orange, then pink, then chartreuse. Sometimes i throw a little somethin' special early in the morning and in the evening...but i'm not at liberty to say what lol :) Seriously though, these fish love their bright colors during the day, they don't know it's not the 80's anymore.
