Klamath Lake fishing

hey cougerjim, congtrats on a nice boat i hope it does you well

Thanks Kawasakii9, I sure would like to get in some fishing, All I have done lately is mess with boats.

I found this site a few days ago searching for the derby dates, and here is post 1; Nice to read about a local lake and see what is going on. I frequent the marina and one of there suggestions is to put a drop light under the engine compartment enough heat comes out of that to keep it from freezing? Not my method but better then nothing and not hard to do, and what ever you do put the outdrive down. Haven't fished the lake for a few years but the two hand rule has me drooling and will be out soon. look for the Labs.... TL

wow all sorts of locals on here now and here I thought I was the only person from Kfalls on here.. :) Welcome! :)

Congrats on the new boat Jim!

Did anybody get any fishing in this weekend? I had to work today (my damn taxes are late) or I woulda been out there!

Nothing here, had a weekend full of stuff to do. I am hoping the forecast holds for the week and next weekend, could make for some good fishing with the water temperature getting into the 40's :)

I didn't get to fish this week-end. I have to register my boat tomorrow and if I have time I will be out there.

Jim

My boat is in the garage and every time I go into the kitchen I can hear the subtle moanings from her. She needs to be in the water, after all it's been two weeks now and we are both suffering. I even got new drag washers in 3 of my reels and new line for my side planers. I really need to get on the lake, really! Hopefully tomorrow, It is supposed to be in the 70's here in town. If I don't go fishing it will be a sin.

I had hoped to get on the water this week, but my wife just reminded me of my schedule. Damn Her! My son is insisting that I take him snowboarding this weekend and next week I have business in San Francisco.... Looks like I am gonna have to wait til weekend after next before I can go chase fish again so I NEED you guys to step up and post some fish pics for me so I can drool over them. Kinda like fish porn

Does anyone know a way to repair Vinyl? My upholstery has some sun damage along the top.

I'm guessing any fish that get to see the inside of your boat are gonna have a lot more than upholstery on their mind!

Yeah, like the wood shampoo.. :)

Doublestrike! What did you get for new line? just got mine spooled up this weekend and the stickers for the boat showed up today now the only thing holding me up is a job! Thanks for the welcome Cody.. TL

Yes! Just got word that I might have an open day this week.... looks like I might be chasing Klamath Lake redbands on Wednesday! :)

Took my new boat out today and she runs reel good. She will Cruz at 25 to 30 MPH with out a strain. Although the weather was nice the lake was kinda rough. Didn't get any fishing in, I was just putting the boat through it's paces. I think I have a keeper now.

Jim

Awesome, I am glad to hear that! :) 25-30mph shouldn't be too tough for it.. in fact it might even break 40 if you put the spurs to it. Mine is supposed to do 47mph.. we'll see if ever gets there but it does 35-38mph withoout much trouble. :)

I assume your wife was more comfortable with the taller gunwhale and walk around room as well? :)

Oh yeah she was very pleased. I got the boat up to 35 and she was still climbing but I let off. I don't know the boat that well yet so I didn't want to push her. The gas gauge says over a half a tank but I don't know if it is right so I didn't go too far from the dock. Next time I will have a gallon can of gas and run the tank down to almost empty to check it out.
