Got 6 skeins just like these waiting for the rivers to drop.....
 
Those look nice... unfortunately I think they're gonna have to wait a bit, It looks like the rivers are goin up this weekend...

The guys up on the Kenai swear by jello.. raspberry or orange
 
Not sure why, but I have been really wanting to toss some bait for early winters this year. I rarely, if ever use roe for steelhead. I have pretty much been a pink worm, hardware or corkie/yarnie guy for at least 10 yrs....but have an urge to try the ol tried n true bait thing for a change of pace.

Btw, I won't use roe when fishing where nates make up the majority of the run. Too much of a chance of a bleeder.....
 
when you do a 3-2-1 cure do you use normal salt? I've used normal and kosher and never really noticed a difference in the outcome. Just curious... I've never heard of one or the other bein correct or incorrect
 
I use canning salt...I have always heard any salt as long as its non-iodized
