Brandon, yes, they always start hatching in the upper Willamette valley about this time of year. There aren't nearly as many of them here, but they begin emerging considerably earlier than the famous Deschutes hatch. Walk around the shore of riffly areas and look at the the trunks of trees close to the water. About 1-4 feet off the ground, right now you'll see the big abandoned nymphal shucks of salmonflies that have recently made the transition. They like to climb and get into a vertical position before hatching.
