Steelhead in Junction City Pond

if going for steelhead i would say
crappie jigs

is there still plenty of steelhead in there.

Great idea. Keeping those on the bottom? Never been to the lake before. :D

under a bobber maybe but dont give me credit it was all gramps and people at the pond

Steelhead are getting scarce at JCP. There still brooders in there. Getting them to hit is another story. Jig don't seem to work on them. Last 2 days its been power bait or worms. Spinners and spoons also worked early in the week.

Good Luck

You're the best, gramps. :) Hit many trout out there?

Do you think it's worth making the trip from the Salem area with a coils of friends?

I caught a brooder on a worm with a green corky, about a foot of leader yesterday, but took all day. I tried worm on bottom, power bait, kastermaster, was there 9 hours before I got a hit. Only saw 2 caught all day and 2 others lost. All were on power bait or worm.

Ok thanks.
When is the next time jcp is getting stocked?

Next stocking of brooders should be Monday afternoon, 1/5.

I did go out today and caught 1 steelhead, saw 2 other steelhead and 2 brooders caught before I left at 2pm

Do you know how big those brooders that are getting stocked?

About 6 to 15 lbs

Just talked to Roaring River Hatchery and they said no stocking of brooders this week. They said stocking will occur next week.

So when exactly
Tomorrow

I can only guess. Most likely between noon and 6pm. I will post tomorrow evening if and when they were planted. You can call Roaring River Hatchery (503) 394-2496 after 8am tomorrow, they might tell you where and when. Or call (971) 673-6000 and talk to a live person, they can tell you AFTER they have been stocked

called the oregon fish and wildlife and they can't tell me exact dates.
How can i find that out.

calling is the only way i would know how to find that info out

well i tried the number on the bottom of the stocking schedule but it didn't work.
Now that is NOT the 541 #

JCP was stocked yesterday 1/13 with about 100 brooders. And they were hitting good on lures and fly's.
