Now this is a Rainbow

I'd say Alaska or BC somewhere. Tahoe is out, rainbows don't get that big there, the big ones are "Lake Trout" or Char.
 
south lake tahoe utah... or flathead lake perhaps?

I agree. I have never had a fish come out of that lake with that much color. Plus the water clearity is all wrong also. It should be green not blue. LOL!!

Ahhhhhh......Crater Lake! Just joking. Look at the bottom right of the pic. It says 'Heavenly Rainbow'. I agree on Lake Tahoe.

That was my second guess and probably caught with an olive crystal bugger down rigged about 40 feet...
 
Funny about the brooder thing, I was gonna say I have seen brooders prettier than that fish, that adipose fin must have grown back pretty well :D.

No way something that ugly could come out of Crane.

And people talk about Carp being ugly, lol.

i looked up more pics of rainbows from that lake...they are absolute beasts.. one website says they have a strain of rainbows (can't remember what it was called it wasn't kamloop) that are the largest in the world. i saw some fish that looked like steelhead. not only steelhead but trophy steelhead Lol
