I got out today, I think I'm just going to have to spend some time working the stupid out of my system. I get waaay too excited when I finally get an opportunity to get on the water. I woke up, got ready and ran out the door with rod in hand. With one problem, no vest in the other hand. I got to the parking area 10 miles from home before realizing what I'd done to myself. I had a rig ready to go, fortunately. I spent a couple hours of casting at increasingly active fish,, rolling, just out of reach, of course. I started tweaking my drag and was getting my gear in the zone when on that fateful cast, SNAP!! I watched my bobber, and about 50' of my brand new line go floating downstream. I stopped, after some choice words, and watched to see if a fish was going to take it down, not even. I mean, if your going to blow a morning of fishing that way, it would've been great to at least come away with a killer story. No luck, well, bad luck, and bad planning. Hope your day was better!
