The big takeaway from this thread though for me is how troutmasta caught the minor inconsistency in your story (that chums do have a code)..that's some Sherlock Holmes stuff right there

I've paid that fine, along with a few others. Cutting the check is easier than figuring out the regs. That's for sure.

actually, the code for Chum is "3", which is used for Pink and Sockeye also, but having a code for tagging a fish is irrelevant to retaining that species...fine for improper retention is like $600!

real fishermen learn the regs. and do it right!
