I headed out in the boat to the Mac today with my buddy and his kid. I really wanted to try and get the kid into some Steel so I spent the majority of the day fishing from the oars. He wasn't having much luck so I decided to finally rig my pole up and give a go. Picked a good slot to hang in and started tossin my lure and WHAMO... Fish On. I only had my trout pole with me so there was only 6lb line on + I forgot to bring my net so odds of landing this fish are not in my favor. So I trade spots with my buddy and tell him to find us a good bank that I can jump out on, not a good bank in sight. I walked this fish 1/2 a mile down the river before we find a good bank and the result was this 29" 8lb beauty hen to finish the day...
