haha man i have no clue else i would 2! i can see y there in 2ft! the water levels r still pretty low! early may last year i had 2 wade across 2 elk rock! have u used the tube weight -less? i fish mostley from the bank so i try 2 go weight-less as much as possible!

i attached 3 photos kinda step by step. just slide the jig head into the tube. this creates a somewhat circular motion when worked on the bottom. nice and slow nice and slow BLAM =) fish on... or how i was taught to say by a hawian... HAWHN A PAW!

thats pretty cool! i tryd no weight! it was a slow floater! i heard of people taking a 4inch senko an tearing the bottom of the worm so it kinda looks like a tube! yeah i think i pickd up those same tubes! sweet! i have that same size jig head2! just wasn't sure if u used a color jig! have u fishd elk rock? its kinda like my honey hole! it might seem fishd out but i always have pretty good luck! my bro caught a 19inch on the south side an it only had 1 eye! that was a couple of years ago!

the bass fishing has been slow! the water is higher so it cooled down 2 about 50degs! caught 2 lost1! my buddy caught 1 lost1! water is a little dirty but not bad! biggest was a lil over 15inches! caught on a 3inch senko grape color!

well i dont know the depth around the island but last thursday i was catching 3's and 4's all day long. BIG MALES haha. all in the spawn and lovin it. it was fun caught a LOT of fish! My buddy has all of the pictures but ill try to get them soon!

it drops in some parts around it! 2days into the cold front i was still catchn them! the last couple of days has been rough! catchn all mine on a grape color! it seemd like there still in prespawn! i would get bites for about an 1hr then it would stop for awhile!(tryd different colors2)! it was still a blast! (cold weather bass fishn!) what was the water temp! feels like it dropped a lot! 50s mayb54

water has kinda cleared fishd for about an hour caught 2 smallies! nothing 2 big! water is still really high but the bass fishing is pickn back up!

Fished Elk Rock Island yesterday, south and west side of island. Ran spoons and plugs on the south side in the shallow flats. Stuck with gold spoons and shad/black gray plugs.
Picked up 5 nice smallies in about an hour. Fish from 1 1/2-2 lbs. Best fish from the south side was just over 2 lbs. The west side of the island is the honey spot for fish coming
in off of the fast water and chasing bait along the steep rocks into the shallows of the south end of the island. The west side of the island is "PRIME" for drop shotting Senko's.
Give yourself about 2-3 feet of leader from your weight to your bait. I would stick with 3" and 4" Senko's in the Pumpkin shade family. Fish em' slow with slight twitches! If you are patient and fish lighter leader you will catch much bigger fish on the west side. Every fish I caught off of this side was over 2 lbs and hit HARD! One last tidbit that I'm sure most folks stick to......stay away from the mid-day bite. The smallies around Elk Rock Island are not very active during the middle of the day.....yet. Good luck!

its good 2 hear some1 else has good luck bankn from elk rock! ive caught some huge bass there all released so u an i can catch them again! so many different areas u can fish from there! havent caught any huge 1s on the west side but the east an south banks can b great like u said in the mourn an afternoon! i caught a couple of tiny largies that were hangn with the smallies!the biggest smallie i caught in that skool was 14oz! also a couple of blue gills! i thought it was strange 2 see them hangn 2gether

the bass r still hitn! senkos 3inch an crawdads 3inch all watermelon black flake dark pumpkin! all caught in about 10-20ft of water from the bank! still have about another month of good bass fishing
