Channel Cats?

Can I make a suggest? When I fished for Catfish in Idaho, I used to 2-3 things.
1: Raw Shrimp - Went to Fred Meyers - Wal Mart - asked if I could buy some of their old shrimp, and let the shrimp sit out in the heat for a day if it didn't smell bad enough :)
2. Magic Bait - Catfish bait - Chicken liver - Worked like a charm.
3. Nightcrawler - if nothing else. :)

Like I said, these where methods I used in Idaho, so it's different. I haven't had much success in the western part of Oregon for Channels. I've had to go east mostly. I also used 2 poles in Idaho, glad Oregon adopted the 2 pole license... :) I mostly fished in the early morning or evening/night at summer... By far the best time for catfish.

Of course - any suggestions or thought I am open to hear them. Thought I'd give my 2-cents in...

blue cats in the columbia? since when? one of them would be tight to catch.

I don't know if any one has tried this but hot dogs seem to work pretty well as bait for me when I was catching channels down in the Redding area. The key to making them work though is microwaving them until they start getting oily.
