best bait for trout?

Funny stuff...

Funny stuff...

I must admit it does bring a smile to my face just thinking of it, pretty funny stuff...
I don't use a whole nightcrawler to inflate, I use about a third of one and the key is a very small needle, very small and an even smaller hook. I use a diabetic needle, the thing is like a human hair so the air doesn't escape when fished. It does take a bit of time to get it just right; but once you do it is very productive for taking Trout.

ANd where do you get those needles?

Heres how i torture worms

Heres how i torture worms

I have been using worms more this year than ever. trout, steelhead, smallies, perch, largemouth, etc...they all love worms!
If I need a bunch of little worms I just cut em up into thirds a day or two before my trip, and throw em back in the container. Usually within 12 hours they have re-generated into little stubby worm pieces (all still alive and well). It makes them easier to hook, you dont have to chop em up on your boat, or any other place, and I imagine (I dont make worm baloons) the little piece of a fat worm will have no problem holding air.
It makes a world of difference when the bite is hot.
