They came up from the Willy where Alton baker spills into the river. Used to be a strong summer run there.
Nice smallie!

It's been a minute since I've fished it. But wow what a night! I got out late and there was already another kayaker on the pond, and probably a dozen people trout fishing. Started pitching in brush and bam! First fish went 3-14
I caught 3 more all in the same hour span in the light rain, trying to get them out, take a photo, and released as fast as possible to keep the crowds from hustling near me
Should have stopped someone for a photo but never did.
Biggest went 5-15, new oregon best of the year, could be the same fish that went 6 last year but with my thumb injury I hold all my fish left handed now, so I see the other side
Wanted to stay and trout fish but it was getting dark and rain was picking up. They've definitely stocked it, trout popping left and right, heard of a 20" being pulled today

Here's to hoping Oregon has something bigger to offer!
Really trying to throw some bigger baits but I may have to switch to spinning reels all together, I don't have the strength in my thumb to hold the spool if the bait is too heavy

I stopped counting trout after 20 last night, they were active all the way from the canoe launch up to the first bridge
Ate just about everything, saw a few get caught from the bank on powerbait as well
Had one bass come out from the bank and grab a lizard I was throwing, but the line immediately snapped

Good evening on Friday! Whole bunch of trout, and a decent bass!
Lots of pikeminnow, not sure where they hide in the winter but dang they are still around. Also saw the usual grass carp a school of sucker fish

2 hour trip on the water
Wind was killer! Anchor sure did come in handy. Not lots of people out there surprisingly
Another 20+ trout, mostly small fish with one kicker
And 1 bass

Couple small trout and missed 2 bass yesterday. Not sure if it was my hooks or hooksets, was trying a new bait and really testing pontoons on the kayak
Water in the pond seemed really dirty, all my fish but while I was slow reeling the bait back

Wow it was on fire today!
I made 2 trips out there, one from 6am-9 solo in the rain, and another from 10:30-2 with my mother in law, only a couple people fishing the bank, no one paddling.
Fish were hungry! Lots of really nice trout and 4 small healthy bass. Probably totalled close to 30 trout in 2 hours of fishing for them
I could see the bass cruising by waiting for the dying ones I imagine, I know it got stocked on Thursday, they probably know the sound of the stocking truck and simply pick off the slow ones
Better a swamp donkey of a crawfish too!

Simple day on the water
Trout, bluegill, and bass!
Wind was ripping! Lots of dead weeds, I imagine the heat killed them. Bass have really spread out
Photos aren't as good as they usually are, had some trouble with the thumb injury recently

Wow I didn't realize I missed a week out there.
Just been crazy busy.
Caught the one smallmouth in there again, he's pretty decent sized, different bait this time, came back for it twice
Lots of trout around, water was so clear I could see the bottom everywhere, explored some new spots and it paid off with a decent largemouth as well.
Trout were very finicky, lots of them nosing the worm but wouldn't commit, still caught about a dozen

Water was low, sky was covered, and fishing was hot!
Even got rained on a little.
One Largemouth, some bluegill, a crawfish, about a dozen trout, and a juvenile smallmouth, which means there must be another in there large enough to mate?
Couple more years and they'll be loaded up!
Hooked one really nice trophy trout but lost it at the kayak, went home after that.

Are you targeting the trout with trout lures or are they hitting bass lures?

Trout lures, that little micro worm that the smallmouth ate is my go-to trout lure

Little switch this week, fished it about 6am-9am, pretty busy out there too!
No bass, about a dozen trout, and one perch!
Trout were schooled up right in the current but pretty lockjawed, nothing of any size off the worm I was using
Local fly fisherman caught a few but all smaller fish as well

Fished yesterday evening, pretty busy out there, kayakers, paddleboards, a pond prowler, and plenty of bank fisherman.
Autzen stadium is reopened for the first game in a a year or so? Partying had already started.
Water was back up to normal levels, but had a really green tint to it.
Caught the local largemouth and lost what I believe was the smallmouth
Trout bites were very slow, grabbing the worm and carrying it but not eating it.

Interesting evening to say the least, I hooked the "resident smallmouth" on my trout worm, fought it for quite awhile but she bent the hook right at the net. Would have been fun to prove to the old local that there's bass in there
One really nice 17" or so trout, I was lining it up on the ketch board when she flopped right back into the water. I think it might be a native? As the adipose fin is present?
Some small bass and more rainbows as well. One squaw

Note to self, don't try and fish Alton Baker on a game night
