I'm in the mood to chase brook trout this weekend. ( Larger ones especially. ) Anybody have a report and/or suggestion about where to go? ( Oregon or Washington, lake or river )

rainbow lake above detroit

just fished Burnt lake up on Hood today and caught some fatties, 12-15in'ers and they're in spawn right now so If you aren't really planning to eat them it's a chance to see how beautiful a fish they are. The bucks are all crimson bellied! Plus there's plenty of cutties (thought generally smaller)to help keep you busy between brooks, thought i did land a 13in'er too. Dinger is absolutely awash with them but they average out at about 10in.

Waldo lake up near O'Dell has some of the most beautiful LARGE Brookies on this side of the Cascades, tough to do with out a gas motor but doable. If you are going the make the trip down here and are willing to deal with the Skeeters shoot me a pm and I can give you some very helpful advice....
Where ever you end up tight lines and again don't forget the Skeeter protection ....

Those are some of the most amazing Brookies I have ever seen. I'm going to have top plan a trip to that area.

It is an amazing lake too be sure, the water is so clear you can see your anchor in over 100'.... that is why the lake fishes tough, they can see you coming a long way off, very deep and very, very big.
