When can I fly fish again

So I learned how to fly fish this past summer and I am hooked. I am wondering when and where I can go during the winter months close to Eugene. It seems like all of the rivers I use to go to (Mckenzie, Willamette are all at flood stage and running dirty. Any suggestions would be great.

You can catch trout fly fishing at Junction City Pond, and Alton Baker Canal, they've been stocking them lately.

even with the water levels being so high? I went to Alton Baker in Nov right after they stocked and it was great but as soon as it started raining it seemed like all the fish went away.

I'm no expert, but I drove over AB canal today. I would think most of those trout that were in there are somewhere around Salem now??

There aren't a ton of oppurtunities around here in Winter (except steelhead). When i get the bug and have to fly fish i usually hit the Mac in the winter. It will clean out faster and can be fished year round if its in shape. The fish are a lot more stagnant in the cold, so nymph fishing is the way to go. It should drop soon, i haven't seen it in a while but man the Willy is brown and BLOWN OUT!!

Alton Baker canal is a great place to flyfish if you are there on the day they stock it or the next day. They thin out pretty quik. Junction City pond is another great place. The fish can't get out and they have been putting in some really nice fish lately. They also put Steelhead in it and some very large brood trout.

This guy needs to change his name that started this post.

Thanks for all of the helpful advice.
