So this picture was sent to me today from a guy up the Mckenzie at leaburg dam and I was wondering if the person that owns this truck and boat is on this forum and if so WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? I have never seen or heard of any one not using the slide and tring to back thier truck and boat down to the river and as you can see if your not familar with this boat launch its a slide not a ramp. There is timbers for a reason.Understand if your on here and dont respond was just curious. moto950092.jpg

Dude, if you park your rig across the bottom of the slide, we can have first water ALL DAY LONG.

I don't see a problem there!

hmmmmm...Jeanna and I put in there once...almost lost the skin off my finger. Don't know what that guy was doing.

Hey gals, notice the driver is a guy! A woman never would have done that, right?

have you never been to a boat ramp and watched some people try to back down the ramp, this guy started backing down to the slide, mind you he started up from the slide by 100' backing to his blind side at a 90 degree angle. Knowing he had to back the trailer hard to the right He cranked the wheel hard left which was the correct action however being excited to get in the water he guns the throttle with out time enough to get under the trailer when it straightens out now the trailer is sitting over the barrier off to the right of the slide. now this person is wise and realizes he needs to crank his wheel hard right while backing and he will be centered with the slide. As he starts this action the trailer tire hangs on the slide and begins sliding down the timbers at this point he stops and gets out to assess the situation. This is the point the poor guy gets in trouble in his endless wisdom, instead of pulling out from the slide he locks in to 4 wheel drive and guns it once again backwards to the right the trailer hits a random stone beside the slide and jumps the timbers but this guy again has put a little to much power to the drive train and the trailer now is OFF to the left of the of the slide. He now decides that he should pull out but the vehicle is now down the slide and its tires straddling the timbers. as he pulls forward he can't get up hill with the trailer now caught on the left side of the timbers. he gets out once again takes a look and sees a road down OFF to the left and decides he can simply back his boat down to that road then come back up to the slide and give her another go! back at the controls of his 4 wheeling machine he cranks his wheels hard left and sticks his foot through the floor board along with the throttle pedal the back axle clears the timbers to the left the steer axle clears the timbers to the right, unfortunately he is now jack knifed hard to the right, he cranks hard right and backs up, but runs out of room with the tree at his rear bumper. By this time the poor guy is so frustrated that in his anger he says %%#^&( it!! He unloads his boat and drags it over to the river and pushes it in the river leaving his vehicle on the slide to come back with his buddy and his big bad SUV to pull him out! That my friends you will see if ever you spend enough time at a boat ramp observing activities taking place.

yup

That's Awesome!!!

I once watched a guy launch on the gravelbar at John's hole on the Rogue, leave his truck on the gravelbar and not return until the tidewater was coming through the doors! Last thing I saw as we left for the day was that the tow truck trying to pull him out was stuck as well!

This dude!! lol... He must have been the only one who has done that.

Lolllllllllllll that's not my jeep! Wasn't me!!!

can't. Stop. Laughing. What a priceless picture. More than a thousand words.

Ive seen this happen a couple of times. Albeit not quite a clusterfunk like above but I've seen people try backing down it. Some people's kids....

what the Hell? Was he able to drive out of that? How did he get sideways? Is his trailer hooked up? How did he think he could back down that, there's an 8 inch curb at the top to stop your trailer from goin over it?? So many questions...

I would be pithed if I showed up ready to put the boat in and saw that.

Oh good god, I would completely lose my sh** if I rolled up ready to drop my boat in and saw that.

So many questions is right. I don't even know how you would get a trailer over that...it's a massive gap between dirt and the upper edge of that concrete on all sides. Plus that thing is STEEP, He's damned lucky his rig isn't in the river.

We haven't tried it yet cause I can't get you to pull the boat with your wifes explorer...it appears to be reserved parking for explorers.
