i was sitting at the tying station ready to engineer some more gnarly intruders when the thought crept into my head.
so i figured i'd ask the experts here. and i want to hear your opinion, either based on experience, scientific data or just pure farting out of your rear end...
why does a steelhead or salmon take your offering?
i know they do not have a need to feed when they return from the ocean, and i know sometimes it's to defend territory (especially closer to spawning), and i know they sometimes hit out of instinct. what do you think?
DISCLAIMER: unless you're a salmon or steelhead who can type on a keyboard, there's probably not going to be an ultimate right or wrong answer... so be nice.
thank you in advance, for reading and contributing.
