What do you think?

Looks great, gone up and talked with the guys about it and the guides/shop monkeys all have over 100 days on the water with it and love/swear buy it...

It addresses a real issue.....

Are you willing to gamble a $60-80 head and $10-30 tip/fly.

I am thinking about it.. they look very well built.

Checked out the link since I want to get into fly fishing. From my gear fishing background, I only use ball bearing swivels on stuff that spins a lot. Josh's product appears to not include a high quality ball bearing swivel.

Just something to consider, maybe the fly line doesn't twist too much?

I think it's an excellent idea. Not only do I hate snarls, but I'd feel like a real dufus if someone watched me lose my shooting head and tip on a cast.

They said it was the best quality USA made, smallest, strongest swivel available.. break rating is at 80#..

$10 for a SWIVEL? Pass. In all the reading and videos I've consumed on the topic of spey casting - I have never, ever seen, heard, or read about anyone loosing a tip, head, or full spey line because of line twist. I haven't even heard of people complaining much of line knotting up and ****ing up a cast - and those that have said something admitted it was a line control issue. I may be wrong, but this smacks of some dude "innovating" solely to sucker people out of their money. $10 for a single swivel is retarded. The most I've ever paid was $5 for a pack of 20 premium swivels, 120lb ball bearing swivels, small enough to use with spinners on my trout rods. Remove the wire snap, and you have a much better swivel than what that dude is hocking, for way less cash.

Let me ask you this - do you want a metal swivel constantly going through your rod's guides when you're landing fish or casting? Seems to me something that can snag and cause a broken guide or broken rod. THAT would suck way worse than loosing a tip, or even a shooting head. Really, it looks like it's just braided mono that's been looped onto the swivel ends. I'd be worried more about it creating a funky hinge point and messing up casts. If you could find some braided mono, and the time to stop at Fisherman's Marine, you could make at least a dozen or more of those setups for what he's charging for one.

x2. not worth it.

Maybe you naysayers missed this part?

"You can make own. We have all of the proven parts, and will teach you how.
Each new Spey Shooting Head / Shooting Line Combo purchased during the next 30-days will include a Josh's AntiRevolution Swivel installed at no extra charge."

No charge for adding to a shooting head/line combo purchase in the next 30 days and they'll show you how to make your own. Then, you can use whatever swivel you want and try it out...take it or leave it.

Doesn't seem like a money-grubbing effort to me. More of a, "here's an idea, try it out and see if some spey casting problems go away for you..."

I stopped reading after "other faucets". Please tell me what a faucet of casting is? You can make own. If someone doesn't care enough to proofread their advertisement I don't care enough either.

LOL, tough crowd here :)

Well I have to agree with gungasuncle I don't want nothing going through the guides of my rods that it can damage them!!

Gungus,
i have never heard of someone on a standard setup loosing a head/tip due to twist either, i was concerned with the swivel setup failing. Also if you ask them they will shot and tell you what they are using and how make them.

the only time the swivel would ever pass through your guides is when you are bring a fish in or packing up and moving spots.. other than that it would stay out of your guides..

i dont know if you guys realize the size of this.. the whole thing is less than like 3 inches long and that line attached is 30lb miracle braid shooting line(tiny) and that swivel is smaller than the diameter that rather small head and twice as small as the loop connection..

you arent just buying a swivel.. this has been worked on for a long time... they found a way to splice the line together, no knots in the line to keep it from jamming up. you are buying their time and labor if you dont want to build it yourself.. i don't really want to loose 10 heads and tips testing out my own systems if i can buy a 10 dollar proven and tested system.

i will tell you that after a long day of fishing i always thought my casting got worse from just being tired and in part i am sure it is, but have been thinking long before i saw this that my shooting line slowly though the day begins to bind up at my first stripping guide more and more due to twist. making my casting worse and worse. more than just the action of casting twists the line but also water currents and stuff. i usually get frustrated and just end up stripping a ton of line out through a run and then let it dangle for a bit and reel in and no longer have as much binding of my shooting line.

i havent tried it because i really dont want to buy a backup head incase i am on the river and the swivel setup breaks and i lose all my stuff... but it is temping to try this out if it means less tangle.. of the 2 guides and 1 employee at the shop i talked to in person, non had lost a setup yet but they do replace them regularly to avoid to much wear.
