Wet and Windy in Warrenton

I made an attempt at fishing for coho out of Warrenton Yesterday. I ran out to the west end of Desdemona Sands and trolled back in with the incoming tide. I had the whole river to myself along with the other folks who were onboard my boat. The only other folks out there were a couple of outbound frieghters. The weather had a lot to do with the lack of company, it was raing hard and the wind had kicked up. Trolling slow while the wind pushes on your bow is always a challenge. After a couple hours of that it was back to the fishing shack for grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, and hot coffee. Today the winds are suppose to be around 30 mph. No need to venture out to the river and try fishing in that. Guess a little spey fishing on the Deschutes would have been a better bet!;)

Thanks for the report. Only the few of us targeting trout did any good at at the Deschutes. No steelhead were found.

But good time around an artificial fire was had!

Hard to say, but I think he was last seen in France looking for the origin of the French blade but ended up working at a chicken hackle outfit. This is puzzling, since there is no evidence of him ever having interest in fly fishing, so speculation points to him in the pursuit of where nuggets come from.

hmmmmm chicken nuggggets! YUM YUM IN MY TUM TUM!

It was a good crew. Even my uncle came over for a day from Bend.

FYI Lonn, The Sandy was blown out to a muddy mess today as I viewed it from the stark street bridge.

I'm back home in Sandy and it sure looks like we got lots of rain here. I left my driftboat out uncovered. It filled with water and the only way to drain it was lifting the trailer tongue with the bucket of my tractor. So yup I bet the Sandy River will be blown out for a couple of day. When it does settle down I'm going to check for coho with my spey rod!
