Vacation day from work today, fished from first light until 1:30 p.m. and was the first time out in 6 weeks that I didn't get any takes at all.

Can my recently inflated ego handle the disappointment? LOL

Did you make too much noise hackin schrubs down, on you way in, with the new machete? Scared all them fish away...

Even the greatest fishermen need to realize that its called fishing for a reason.... not catching. ;)

There is a spot up in McIver that we've spooked 4-5 steelhead each time we've been there in the last two weeks if you want the GPS for it...they're holding in some funky water!

Way late into the summer steelhead fishing game for the year my boy!!! You should be thinking salmon by now!!! At least that's how I think the 1st time of the summer I can get into them!

Agree ^. Go salmon fishing now and you can think about winter steelheading while salmon fishing.

So funny! That's a true angler right there! I do that all the time! Never thinking about the season we are in currently and looking forward to the next! Ha ha. I am loving this years salmon season though and don't want it to end!

Well, unfortunately the coho action around the nearby tribs seems pretty sparse, so in the meantime, steelhead have been the game. And it's not so much that there aren't any around, I've spotted dozens in the last couple days, but my mojo has waned a bit :)

Went out this morning for a few hours with dozer and blanked again. He got one though...on a spoon! My influence is spreading, LOL

I went today and invested like $8 in various spoons. After saturday, I went out again Sunday evening. Had something on for like 2 shakes and a jump. And my pink steelhead spoon flew back at me. Lost it. Then had a big one chase my dare devil on a retrieve. With the flows like this. I have suddenly fallen in love with spoons by the beginning of the tail out. I might have to keep trying mr chezJfrey's mid drift swing too.

Hehehe, the irony being that when I went out with you, I got nothing!
