Today I went to Bethany pond in attempt to catch the rumored giant carp they have there, I did see several huge carp and one white carp?? Koi maybe? However, they had no interest in in the corn on my hook whatsoever. I didn’t use anything fancy just normal stinger hook with some corn threaded on covering the hook bc I know carp have sensitive mouths. Any advice? Anyone have experience catching the carp in Bethany pond specifically?

I have not fished there in a long time but I used to go there with the kids to catch carp. We would use doughball. I think I did better with wheat germ based than cornmeal based. Basic recipe was put some milk in a pan, salt it heavily and gently bring it to a boil. Add wheat germ until you get the consistency you desire. Sometimes add sugar, honey, vanilla, etc (whatever makes you have confidence). I think the wheat germ smells a lot like the bread that they get to see a lot of from folks feeding the ducks.
