Town run trash

My family and I are going to do a little clean up around island park on Thursday of this week. I'm thinking we'll get started around 4pm. There is a bunch of trash under the bridges and around the bankie spots that I'd like to get cleaned up before the rains start.

Come on down if you want to participate. We'll bring the trash bags and transport the garbage to the dump. Although I have a friend that works for Willamalane....I wonder if he could get them to come grab our bags if we pile it near the ramp.

Anyway, bring gloves as I'm sure we'll find some needles or other questionable debris.

Afterwards I plan on fishing so if you can't make it for the clean up, come on down and fish. The steelhead won't stand a chance!

Hope to see you there.

I don't live in the area, but I think it's really great that you're doing a trash clean-up! Public access spots can get so dirty with people who just don't give a damn's garbage. Pack it in pack it out!

It's really sad. It's such a beautiful stretch of river. Such a shame that you can't help but notice the garbage under the bridge.

That's pretty cool! I will try to make it out and load the sled with trash and meet you guys at the ramp to offload it. You might need several trucks to haul the stuff from those trestle camps though. Wonder if we can bring unoccupied tents to the dropoff? The one camp to the west had their garbage kind of rolling into the river last I was out. Would be cool to have some agency or company step up with a dumpster or whatever.

Thanks,

I wish I could be there to help. Kudos to you and your family!!!

I work Thursday and I am OFF for the weekend. Wish I could help out. That is my favorite stretch of water. Thanks for cleaning it up. The beer cans in the water between Jasper and Island Park is also pretty sad but they are just deep enough that one would have to swim to get to them. Those people that litter our water and land are total jerks and should just stay home....

This is a great event. We've helped with it twice. Unfortunately, this year I'll be hunting in Central Oregon on the 6th.

There was nothing posted "below". If there more information, that you would like to share?

As a 6th gen. native Oregonian...I am excited to see this event take place!!!

Please PM me, with contact information. I may be able to get my boss, to sponsor this event.

Most excellence, thanks.

I'll show that information to my boss. If he's interested in a sponsorship; I'll be in touch.

I'll be wokin but believe me, I'd rather be out pickin up trash... :(

So we picked up the trash under the bridge and that pretty much filled my boat. My kids were being ornary so we didn't stick around to fish after. Sorry if we missed anyone but we were home by 5:15.
