So I went up the Mac for some steelhead fishing yesterday afternoon and no such luck on the steelies.I was drifting pinky nail size chuncks of eggs that I just cured up and tick tick wham set the hook and fish takes off out of the little pocket I was drifting.Salmon on and its a strong one.End up fighting it for probally 2 min before the hook pulled as I was tring to get the fish back up river through the current so my pressure was a little excessive.Remind you light steelhead gear 8lb leader and #4 hooks so 20 min later bam fish on and she holds but another salmon.End up landing this on and she was pushing 25lbs with a giant adipose fin.Release her and end up doing this over and over again for couple hours.Only got two pics and the fish I landed were all native hens released to do thier thing and make more for us.When I had enough I was 3 for 13 on salmon as I just couldnt hold them with my gear in the hole I was steelhead fishing.Oh well win some lose some. The 2 fish I was able to calm down for photo time real quick were 14-15 lbs so good luck to all thier is plenty of oppertunity out thier if you search.
