Toon trip

Hey guys how's it going? I'm just seeing if anyone on here wants to run the Mckenzie in Pontoons here in the near future..I'm not familiar with this river and would like to get out and see this beautiful water. I have a 9ft pontoon set up that i've ran the Wilson, Clack, Sandy. I really enjoy it and it gives you such an advantage of being able to hit so many more holes than hopping from rock to rock on the bank up and down the river. Also, Im itching to get into some steelhead. I know they are just starting to enter that system but if anyone has a pontoon or a raft that they fish out of and wants to get into some early summers let me know and we should plan something very soon. The days I would be able to go are Tues/Thurs/Fri... Have a good one.

Love to do it but work keeps me from doing it on the weekdays....

I'll be running it in a month or so with the drift boat but I leave my pontoon off that river, it's some big water in a little pontoon. I guess down lower is fine between hendricks and ballenger and on down though. I'd recommend running it with someone that's familiar. Had a drift boat capsize last week on that hendricks to bellinger stretch and the guy had been floating that stretch for many years.

I was looking for some input about the degree of difficulty. I guess I should have stated that. So does this mean your inviting me out in your drift boat in a month or so? ha ha : )

Also, if anyone has ran this in a pontoon your response would be appreciated.

use common sense and you wont have a problem. i float from the dam down regularly and have seen a lot of pontooners and rafters they dont seem to have problems. its not the difficult of a river.

I have never run the mckenzie in my 'toon but have put many miles on it in other rivers and would love to join you someday soon.. All my friends have to many excuses for not fishing and I have every excuse for leaving work and fishing..... I have a great job which allows me to fish nearly any time!
