I finally got out for some fun. Umpqua springers, if not the best salmon in the world, are certainly in the top five. This was yesterday. 31 pounds on a digital scale. (de-liar)

I drove up HWY 38 back from the south coast last Friday and every boat ramp was plugged with trailers. I figured there was a reason. That's a big one.

Impressive fish, well done sir.

That's a super nice Umpqua Springer, I had to look again!

Best,

Springer Qwest

Springer Qwest

I'll be singing ( or my line will) in the rain tomorrow, somewhere on the Umpqua. Water level is down to 9'. Hope it doesn't rain too much tonight.

me too, first springer trip of the year for me. Headed north though. I'm coming out of retirement, finally.

best of luck to the both of you... luckeeeee.

Good luck DB and Jeanna!

We were able to fish Scottsburg today and blanked out. Weather and water were OK, but the fish were few. We did see two fish landed by another boat and there were some others caught as well before we arrived. You need patience on the Ump, but at least the fish are big.

Best of luck,

Oh...Lady Luck was shining down on me like never before today....hijack over, more about that later ;)

Oh come on, More now!!!

Caught a 12lb springer on Thursday, the smallest adult springer I have ever seen on the Umpqua. If my fishing partner sends me a picture, I'll post it, but it looks more like a Willamette springer. Better than a skunk, though.
