That steelhead feeling...

That feeling, first day out this year for steelhead, sitting in the dark, at a favorite bank fishing hole, waiting for it to get light...

and then that first cast of the year...unfortunately, nobody seemed to be hooking any fish on Xmas eve this year but who cares, every cast had a chance of that bobber down/head shake feeling that is usually followed by total chaos.

I totally know what mean. First time out for winter steelhead was last Saturday. Then fished Sunday, Monday and today as well. No fish for me, but I helped a couple guys land their fish, one Saturday morning and one Sunday morning so I know there are some around. This was just the kick off to my season with many more days ahead to come........
