Hello all.
looking to buy a new summer steelhead drift rod.
I might toss spinners with it, but I will most likly use the spinners on my IM8.
I currently own two med action berkley IM8 rods. (one casting and one spinning) they are ok rods, but they are not very sensitive.

I want a good casting rod to use for drifting, this will be pair with my Curado 200E7
looking at a Lamiglas Certified Pro X 106 MC or X 106 MLC
or the G Loomis STR1163C

I am pretty lost though, I dont want to spend $300 on something I wont use or that wont be more sensitive then the IM8s

What are your favorite rods for Summer Steelhead fishing?

I like my GL2 for drifting. Although my GL3 is way more sensitive.

I love my Rogue 8'6" 8-12# super sensitive

SH 964C-2 Steelhead Rod 9' 6"
$244.00
2 Piece / Line Weight 6-12 / Lure Weight: 3/16-1/2oz
Power: Light-Medium / Action: Moderate-Fast / Cast

seems like a pretty good rod.
any other thoughts on Rouge rods?

I doubt you will be disapointed.. Thats the same rod I use I was typing to fast and put the wrong #s on my original post.. I won't tell you how much I paid though.

If you are going to go with a custom build I would recommend the batson XST 1141. One of the most sensitive rods I have used and its perfect for drift fishing summer steelhead and can be used to cast #3 spinners as well. :)

thanks for the input guys.
during my search for Rod info I found a Sage 286 6-15# for about 50% of retail, and its only been used a handful of times.
I dont think I can pass on it

My Curado will be stoked after it is paired with a fancy rod.
can't wait.

Yeah the GL2.

just got my Sage GSH 286C home.
it is awesome.
I like the fact there is cork over the blank.
can't wait to test her out this weekend.

makes my IM8 look like an ugly stick.

I just hope it isn't super fragile.
