Summer chrome in the Applegate

Is there a small summer stealhead run on the applegate? I caught something yesterday, not a winter and not a usual cut throat that I wrangle in. Could have been a big big rainbow? Really did look like about a 3-4 pound stealhead, bright rainbow colors and shaped like a football. Fought like I hooded a truck!! Guess what she hit? Rhymes with shmittle leo

I know nothing of that river, but according to Fishing in Oregon, there are quite a number of hatchery steelhead that fail to migrate and stay in the river...could be one of those?
