Thanks guys. You should know, I was'nt targeting them. I was fishing a #12 black nymph under an indicator for trout. Actually I caught 3 steelies last year doing the same thing.

That's a nice fish for this time of year! Nice work. love watching people get fines there for not knowing you need to have a salmon/steelhead tag for those! Whats funny is i always try and warn them and they dont believe me or tell me im wrong. Ha ha ha. and every single one I've warned has gotten a ticket! Ha ha. seen six people in the last couple years get fines for it. all you have to do is read the regs people! Ha ha. sorry about the small rant . nice fish man!

Thanks, it was on an old 6wt Lamiglass 1000. I bought the rod 4 years ago for $30. I put it together then and it hasn't been apart since.

Nice fish Grampa Ron!
I was targeting trout there last year (this time of year) when i saw a nice steelhead sittin about 5 feet of shore. Had a lure on, Rigged up with bait to float some Green Powerbait (yes powerbait). Got rigged up, baited up, Found a stick for a rod holder, put that in place. Casted 5 feet off shore and 5 feet away from the fish.
Realed in some slack, set rod in (stick holder) turned around, took a few steps away, then i heard my pole cashing to the ground to see it sitting backwards in rod holder (butt end/real stuck on rod holder) tip of pole in the water thrashing around with this flying fish all over the duck pond.
This fish was caught on 11/12/11.
The fish that almost stole my set up all in a matter of 3 seconds!

Thats a nice chromer for this time of year, so is Grampa Rons. I've only taken the kids to A.B. park for trout, maybe next year i'll try for some steel. I was at Armitage fly fishing yesterday, was that you i saw on the other side of the river? I always look for the Nike wading shoes.
