encouraging report from the ODFW lady at the launch, she heard 5 fish caught Friday in the river and had 2 come in as of 11am Saturday....Halibut is open this weekend so there are more larger boats than usual out our launch, but it sounds like we do have some Kings in the river to chase down during the coming week. We are planning to hit the launch Monday at first light.

I think Mike Redding indicated he might be fishing the 'slaw' this weekend, so maybe he will have a shiny report....

I have good and bad reports. There were a few chinook being caught but none by me. We dropped our crab pots across from the CG station and trolled down to the jaws. Marked a couple fish.

Bar was completely flat so we went out on the big pond for about 6 hours. Caught and released 4 wild silvers and lost one other BIG fish. Very nice to finally get into some action and get that nasty skunk off the new boat.

Now the bad. When we went back and pulled our pots they were empty except for a few small females. One pot was gone. I went up and down river looking for it but no sign. After giving up looking I powered upriver and there it was 1/2 mile up. Hmmm. Seems as if we have a crab thief.

Sure enough. Everyone at the dock had limits except us. The ODFW fish checker said there have been reports of people getting their crab stolen and sometimes the thief even takes the bait.

Tried the exact same thing on Sunday afternoon for about 2 hours. Got 1 solid take down and missed it, brought home 8 crab. Not bad.

there's an old geezer over there that is notorious for stealing crab out of other people's pots, my dad's friend has caught him a couple times. He's in his late 70's lol. I'm sure other people are in on the action too, but that dude just doesn't care. Good to hear the fish are in close, next month should be pretty good.

We had a few crap thief's on the slaw and then finally they stole them! Be careful out there. I heard some people put fish hooks in their rope line for those crab pot thief's. That would get their attention!

I would have no problem beating up an old man if that happened to me. Ha ha just kidding. But that is pretty messed up and there would be consequences. Just jealous losers that can't catch any themselves. I'm sorry but crabbing is not hard! Ha ha
