we fished Wednesday incoming tide from 7am to 11am (mostly plug cut herring and also some lures), there were about 8 or so other boats trolling the same stretch (CG up to past the rock shore fishing stretch), no action for us and really not any big fish reflections on the sonar, none of the other boats hooked up or caught any fish that we could see...probably try again early Sunday...

cheers, roger

Eh, that sucks but its still early... I have been hearing from a couple guys at my work that its been slow out there for them too. Hopefully it will start turning on soon. I will begin my assault on the banks in a few weeks ha ha. Gotta find a friend with a boat! Ha ha

Good to hear any report from the slaw, so thanks roger!

It'll take off soon I think, but I'm gonna focus on the Ump for the next week at least. It is fun to get one of the first early fish on a system though!

Keep at it,

I was out on the crabbing pier & I was prettty sure I saw you. Thought the boat & dog looked familiar! LOL

The fish are in at Coos Bay, catching off the jetties with spinners. A bit more of a drive but it might be worth it.

thanks and I agree, and if we were in a hurry to get into some Kings, the Ump is where we would be fishing, but being a few miles from the launch here in Florence we should have Kings here soon enough...and then later the Coho will be welcomed to the party....we do have family visiting next week so really hoping to see at least a few big fish moving into the river next week...
