Yesterday I had a spur of the moment decision and secured to fish the necanicum river, little did I know that by 5:00am when I arrived at the parking lot it was essentially full and I wasn’t feeling like talking to people while fishing So I decided to drive till I found water. Drive to this tiny creek in the middle of nowhere off some forestry road.(found the creek name and checked the regs don’t worry) and started trout fishing with a tiny panther Martin with a singe barbless hook ended up catching a couple trout by casting the spinner right next to a half submerged log and retrieving. After a while of catching trout, I made a cast and immediately a bright red monster of a fish comes out from under the logs and destroys my spinner (keep in mind this is my ultra light trout setup with 6lb line and 4lb leader) this fish is taking drag and piling me all up and done the creek but I get him in as fast as I can unhook him snap a pic and release him safely to spawn. After all is said and done I am left with waders full of water cold hands and feet a broken trout rod and one hell of a story.
