pontoon or no pontoon

Going trout fishing at benson lake or hartmond pond tomorrow. Wondering if i should take the pontoon or not.... I have never trout fished from it before, primarily used it as a way to float down the river for steelhead fishing on the clackamas. Is it more trouble than its worth to take it out there, is it hard to troll around a fly or spinner from the pontoon, and would i be better of just anchoring up and fishing a bobber or off the bottom or just fish from the bank instead?

If you plan to fish at a lake, I'd take the pontoon.

Without the pontoons the frame just sinks :)

I love taking my pontoon out on lakes. Its easy to troll with as long as its not super windy.

Benson Lake.... Take the pontoon. Considering it's getting stocked this week, bank access could be tough/unpleasant (although not sure about midweek pressure). When stocked, they pool up in the SW corner so being able to float will put you right over the action.

It is called a magic carpet for a reason, get off the shoreline and your chances of catching fish goes up 100%, JMHO.

Take it, a deadly technique is to put the tail(light skinny part)of the worm on a hook, a couple of splitshot at least 2ft up your line and let the wind drift you along.
