I'm gunnin' to win your contest!
Four trips, over the last four weekends = four summers
Didn't have a lot of time today, but thought I'd give it a go for a few hours. Started casting at 7:30 a.m. and by 8:20 or so, hooked into a pretty decent summer fish...the magic of spoons I could feel a bit of heft in the first few tugs and when it took a couple leaps, I saw it was fairly thick for a summer. After some good runs, and a bit of chasing down river, landed this...just shy of 29" and 8.1 lbs.:
Always encouraging, when you get it close, to see the hook in the scissors...especially when you grab for the tail and it shoots through your fingers, LOL. I knew it wasn't going anywhere with that hook job though, and next attempt got it beached.
Searched around for fish #2 for awhile, but had to bail at 10:30.
And waco, if you're around...I didn't have much time today, but if I can get away for longer next weekend, I'll send you a note.
