Floated with Dtikey and another friend on Father's Day...we spent most of the day looking for open water to fish without much luck....there was a lot of traffic on the river. We focused on trying to find springers, but from what we saw , maybe we should have fished for steelhead a little more. I got one bite all day on eggs. This little hen was as hot as they come. I was sure she was gonna wrap up in the anchor rope when she bolted under the boat. I was using a blue/chartreusse spinglo and roe, on a 2/0 hook. 2' of 15lb maxima for leader.Piece of 1/4" hollow core 2" long crimped to my main line tag at the swivel.This fish was caught on a steelhead rod, and this is the first time this year I was honestly worried that the rod was under sized for a salmon...She kicked my butt....we saw lots of rollers as the sun moved off the water, but the bite was slow...only saw one other fish foul hooked and released....
