Hey guys got a few questions about Salmon fishing, I want to catch a salmon or two for the first time in my life.

Im in Portland, OR by the way.

1. Is the Chinook run over?
2. Where is a decent spot to go to where there arent a million people? (PM me if you would like)
3. All I have ever tried to use is corkie and yarn, is that any good? Never caught anything but it might be because I know nothing about fishing waters/spots.

4. When does the Coho run start? (Like in the sandy river by Sandy Oregon area?

Thanks, a lot!!

well i think the chinook run is pretty much done in the lower areas you might catch (if you are lucky) on the upper areasorky and yarn is good but you also want to try diferent stuff if the yarn isn't doing good!! and i think coho run starts on mid august!!

THX Waco, ANyone else want to chime in on when the coho starts? Or is that a "Secret"?

You`ll start seeing coho in the lower sections very soon. The springer run is pretty much over but not completely. The Sandy is very cold and always has good lookin fish this late. The summers are goin strong. So just go smaller, go higher on the system and keep tryin. Good luck!

Is the sandy river in the sandy, OR area considered Low or high section?

High.
