I am taking my girlfriend to St louis ponds next sunday it will be a first for us and her first time fishing! I would like to get into a mess of crappie bass and catfish could anyone be so kind to point me into a good pond that will have a nice chance of getting her into some fish? The reason for this is my 30th birthday is coming up and I'm having a fish fry and would like something other than trout to offer people! thanks!

Um...they have been doing a bit of work out there lately. They are putting in concrete platforms in almost all of the ponds. So the water level is way down and I only saw clear water in the first pond you see coming in. My kids and I didn't have any luck. You might consider going somewhere else. Sorry for the bad news.

Bro, you can find all of those species at Hagg. But, I'm not the one to know where. Maybe someone else, can pitch in...or you can read the Hagg threads in the archived files.

Thanks guys, Might have to try our luck anyways at st louis, I dont want to stray too far from salem with this being her first time. Is there a parking fee there by chance? I figured some crawlers and bobber then a rod with chicken liver on the bottom.

They don't charge for parking. But I did see a huge catfish swimming in the one clear pond. Probably a good idea to try the chicken livers. Good luck to you.
