Medco Pond Fishing

Went camping at medco pond over the weekend. Mostly trolled flys with my ultra light spinning rod. It was instant fun! trolling backwards and watching the rod tip go crazy. The trout loved the green wolly bugger. And if i didn't get a strike for awhile i knew i had weeds on my hook. Constant action! Most trout were only 7-8inches, and every now and then a crappie or bass would bite the fly. Nice place to take kids, lots of bluegills along the shores and the bird watching is great! An osprey was constantly diving into the water and sometimes an eagle would chase him. Also there was a group of these big white birds. They were quite interesting to watch when they were feeding i think it was. Fun trip!

I love fishing Medco in my float tube. Haven't done it in a couple years, but I've caught some nice largemouth out of the weeds on spitting frogs.

By this time of year my pontoon boats are full of air and they stay that way until fall but I've been hanging around with the river guys a lot so my boats haven't been used since January. One legitamate excuse is that the lakes have been snowed in but your pictures have got me thinking about it heavy again. Nice trout...nice bug. White mountain pelicans WTF??!!

Yeah saw them up at Williow on Sat. Managed to hit a Bluegill at Medco on Sat but there were too many drunken rednecks shouting profanity for me to want to stay with my family, which was a shame as it saw some big fish swimming along the weedy shore.
