Marion Lake weekend

Hiked into Marion Lake a couple weekends ago and stayed two nights. My buddy had never been there so we packed up and headed east. The fishing was outstanding. Lots of brookies and a few rainbows. Surprisingly the average catch was around 13-14 inches, our biggest was 18 (my biggest brook to date). We mostly trolled wooly buggers real slow. If youre looking for a nice hike-in lake to stay a night or two, or even just for the day, this is the place to go. The fishing and atmosphere is unmatched!!:D

My last trip there, was in 2000. Glad to see they are still strong n' healthy!

Some beautiful fish ! Looks like it is well worth the trip.

Nicely done! I was planning on taking my first trip up to marion a later this year. My biggest brook was caught by accident at cook park at 11 1/2 inches and was a chunky one at 1lb 13oz! I dropped my line in the water straight down at the edge of the dock and when I reeled I got slammed! Honestly, that was the strangest day of fishing thus far for me, but very enjoyable. Again, Sweet deal!

Awesome! Thanks very much for the report.

Did you guys fish the upper, or lower end of the lake?

Randy

fished mostly the eastern half, just off the peninsula consistently offers good fishing
