Went up Mac today for little bit to try for some steelhead and give the nooks a little break.Got up thier about12 and 5th cast got this fish off the last jetty.Handed her off to some guy that never has gotten a fish so he was on cloud nine and made me feel good as well.Fished till 2:30 and I didn't touch any more other then a quick head shake.Seen 1 other fish landed and 3 lost out of lots of people.Before I got thier thier was some fish on the bank already so sounds like the river is fishing good for steelhead up thier below the dam.Good luck to those that battle the crowds.

you guys know what it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.I just fished by my feet and short drifts so no problems for me but was seeing some snagg ups from other fishermen with eachother but if you pay attention most can be avoided

Wow, that is busy. Nice pull coming in for a nooner and quickly pulling out a summer. Very generous of you to hand off. Must be a nice drive home knowing you made someone's day. :clap:

yes it did he was pretty pumped about it and the fish was a good fighter with lots of jumps so even better

Nice fish! I was up there friday and hooked 2 but lost them both when they jumped and my line snapped. I've never had that happen before, i was pretty bummed. I was using 8 lb. ultragreen, i'm goin back up for my birthday tomorrow and i'm thinkin about switchin back to a 10 lb. leader. Nothin would be better than landing my first summer steel on my bday!

Speaking of line being snapped. There is one pissed off steelie in there with a #3 blue fox in it's mouth. Only hook up for me today, got him on the 3rd strike he made, solid hook up, but must of had some freys.
