Is 12lb leader good for steelhead or should i go use 15 or 20?

12 should be more then enough. I personally use 8lb mono while steelhead fishing.

Ok wasn't quite sure. I got my rigs all with 12lb fluorocarbon.

I normally use #10 for Winters and #8 for Summers

same here.

10 for winters,8 or even 6 for summers...I am not impressed with flurocarbon though...Tried it for a while and quickly went back to mono leaders...

Thanks fellas. Might have to pick me up some mono soon then.

X2 usually the case for me to. I try to stay at 10 or above with flouro leader, that stuff gets brittle

I used 12bl fluorocarbon all year long and it has never failed me. Its a smaller diameter than 12lb mono and is hard for fish to see. Although I have switched to 8lb ultragreen for the really low and clear conditions. Not that it makes much of a difference. Use it till you run out and then make a decision.

ps. make sure you wet your knots or it will burn easy and becomes brittle.

I use 8 for winters and used 6 lb last week and landed a 16 pounder. I use the pline cxx it's pretty tough.

Yea just got it so it might be a while till i ran out. I was gonna get that ultragreen but decided to get fluorocarbon .
