Was aware of that. But thanx for the info. Most the springers are about through. Sum brighter ones in the mix. Ran into a school of 15-20 dark nooks. Had their interest for a bit. But nothing looked very bright. So I moved on. I have landed a few steel the last couple weeks. A nice 8 lbs buck. And a little chromer hen only 23 inches lol. But they are fish. And something has changed in the last week too. A lot more ppl are fishing. Went to a tail out by my house. Hasn't been a soul in months. Tonight 3 different groups. So I go down to cross park. 4 guys in that drift. Time to start bushwhacking into some more secluded fisheries :-)

absolutely, The summers have almost been annoying while coho fishing for me.

Do u cross the bridge. Or park at gate? Just curious.

gate today.
Osmosis I tried for a ho but just got summers.

saw the salmon out there rolling at mciver, also saw lots of anglers. was chugging a dry trying to get one of those annoying steelhead...

After an almost 2 month break from fishing (pregnant), I'm starting to dream about it--I have to get back into the river. I usually do McIver, the northernmost river access point, where many rafters bail out. I'm new to the sport, just started in June, so have only really been trout fishing. Any advice on tackling this spot now?

I recently acquired another rod--a Reddington 10' CPX, with appropriate accoutrements. Thinking about taking my horrible back cast and trying it out. :)

Tips and thoughts welcome.

Also, what is the water like now? Depth? Flow?

Can't help much cuz I don't fly fish. But. The flow is pretty low pretty clear still. Seems most fly fisherman/women swing leaches. The steel hold in choppy water. Anywhere from 8inches to 4 feet. At least this is what I've found the last month or so. Good luck.
