I had a great year this summer while chasing steelhead.

It was by far my best fishing year yet (last year was hard to beat).

I filled up and reached just about every goal i had for the summer run fish.

My goal was 15 steelhead on the tag, but i inked 12 (same as last year) and i hooked about 20 more steelhead this year then last year.

So chezJfrey... i inked 12 summers for the year and that was it. How many did you end up inkin/bankin? Handed off fish count.

I will let the pictured tell the rest of the story. Enjoy.

This fish smacked a 1/4 brass cleo while pass through a fast shoot.

This fish smacked a Knd custom tackle sprocket spinner then twisted the hook off the split ring in the net.

Here is another fish that also smacked a sprocket spinner (get your self some!)

3 fish day, 2 for me, 1 for my buddy. (top and bottom are mine)

The planter trout just can't resist this spinner... making for fun fishing inbetween steelhead.

Just 1 epic year of fishing. There is a few more fish that should be up here but have not downloaded them off the digital camera yet.

Forum has been slow... so i hope this post brings up some reports that havent been shared yet. :D

Good summary. I used to identify with you and ChezJFrey because we were all kind of beginners and using spoons. I think both of you guys really surpassed me by quite a bit this year. The year's not over yet but I had hoped to make it to 20 fish (lifetime, that is ) and then quit counting. Stuck on 18, though, and I can still remember every one. I got 8 winters all in a two week period in March and April and I think about four got pictured here. After that, I only put in about twenty hours on summers and was 0 for 4 in June all on home made spoons. Been to busy to fish much up until lately. Keep up the good work and the reports.

Awesome, you sure know how to hook em on spinners, thats for sure! I could never seem to get fish on spoons or spinners.
I had an epic year as well. I landed my first steelhead of my life in feb on the Slaw, and since then i've landed 23 or 24 and inked 13. I could never have imagined i'd do so well but i figured out the bite pretty well and put lots of time on the river. Obsession would be a pretty good way to describe it, i'm either fishing or thinking about it. I still love fly fishing for trout though, its just a blast.

Thanks guys! I forgot to say that these photos on here. i went to my store to the back on my buddies cooler door to take a photo of already printed ones, thats why they look they way the do. These fish were caught in early october. I did pick one up in early november too but did not take a picture of it.

Although I consider myself a steelhead junkie, I only fished for summers a couple of times this year. I fish for winters on a system with only hatchery strays so I only tagged 8 steelhead this year.....which is 1/5th of last year and about 1/3 of my yearly average. I banked/boated well over 50 nate winters doing the weekend warrior thing. For some reason the past couple years I have been obsessed with springers....last year was better than this year by a 2- 1 ratio on springers and fall fish for me...but I only fished about 1/4 of the trips........Hopeless brag post

So far I've tagged 48 summers and 10 winters and released almost a dozen or so later summers that I landed as well. don't even know how many more I lost! Ha ha easily 20 more or so lost! not as good as summer as last year for me but a much better winter as I only tagged one winter last year. I also caught around 8 few big thick natives that all got to swim away. only went.out Springer fishing 2 times this year :( but managed to get a 15 pound chromer each time! So that's pretty decent I guess. hooked/ handed off about 15 coho (tagged my 2 natives and either handed off or released) and only one fall Chinook (35 pound monster though). didn't bother keeping track with trout but easily in the hundreds. had a couple days where i would catch over 30. I think thats all i have to brag about...? pretty great year for me overall!!! Got to try a few new spots that produced a lot of nice fish and learned a lot and got to be out with good friends! I freaking love this sport!!!
