Ignored Fish on a hook!!

Some fisherman didn’t fight to release a snag on his line so just broke the line and left, ignoring the other end where a fish was later hooked! The fish still had some life in it but the hook had moved deep into its body fighting for a long time. I couldn’t do much about this poor little fish!

Good for you, for attempting a rescue!
But, I have to agree...crappie are not elongated like many fish. It looks like a perch to me too.

You know I guess you're right! That's a perch!
Sorry I'm not good in fish species and crappies and perches are similar!
BTW...if you don't know what different species look like...you can wind up getting a ticket or two from a game warden. You owe it to yourself (and the fish), to know what they look like. And a warden will expect you to know.

Thanks for the links and warning. I usually release what I catch. Sometimes I keep a trout or a carp, which I know them!
