Fish & Dive I've used a few times.
It's a sit on top yak.
Pretty much set up for fishing.
I'm not an very experienced kayaker.
I would like to give it a try on the Willamette around Eugene.
I've never used it on a river but have had it in tidal current at Morro Bay Ca.
Anyone like to make suggestions as to where to start?

I would probly try from the boat ramp at Alton Baker to Valley River.

Yes, you will need to either register your yak (if you use it with an electric motor) or get an invasive species permit. The permit is something you carry and is transferrable (if you have 10 kayaks and use them one at a time you only need one permit).

Best of luck down there. This fall you should come up to Portland for some sturgeon fishing, it is really a blast from a kayak.

I would really like to give it a try at least. But, as finances would have it, I'll have to content myself with local waters. Probably mostly from the shore. Mainly, I just want to get out and wet a line, if I should actually catch anything, seeing how I've no idea about fishing local water, I'll consider it a bonus. Just rounding up the cash for a license was hard enough. Making long trips to fish is out of the question for the time being.

Lots of easy floats that are local to eugene. The Mckenzie, Willy, and Umpqua will all be great choices to float and fish.
