help steering two outboards

Was wondering if anyone could help. Would like to steer my kicker with the steering wheel. I have seen some hardware that mounts on back of both motors with a rod connecting the two. Pretty darn expensive!! Has anyone made up their own,and would you be willing to share your idea.

any rod connected from one to the other should work. make it swivel at the connection points

Yes. I think I can manufacture something for around 25 bucks. there is really not much to the ones I have seen in catalogs. thanks

There is a Stearns steering kit on eBay, (this is what I use) with no bids yet starting at $15, ends Mar 3 about $10 shipping, item # 250779169085
bet if you wait just until it goes off, would only be $25, worth a try
