Has anyone ever used one of these?

well that's different. I haven't used it before though

Looks interesting, but how the heck would you mend your line? Have you had the chance to handle one yet?

Might be OK for crappie jigging off a dock.
Can't see anything more than that.

If I remember correctly this concept was the result of a "Tunnel Rat" US Army soldier in Vietnam who dreamed one night in the early 80's that he was back in the tunnels, chasing down a VC with a rope and grappling hook in his hand. Very much similar to the teepee-based nightmare experienced by Elias Howe which resulted in the development of the sewing machine needle*.

If one did have use for such a rod it certainly sounds like it has a number of "bang for the buck" features.

*Why do all of you think that I never provide information consisting of any modicum of truth? http://www.sewalot.com/elias_howe.htm. Jerks.

Actually, I think it's made for crappie jigging. And RC, no I haven't tried one yet. Saw it in an article, thought it looked different and was wondering if anyone has used one.

Looks neat - wouldn't mind having one to chase panfish with.

I saw a youtube video on it, its made for ice fishing on windy days.
