Good winter

0-2 this week, been loving this river, got to explore up by the old dam site today and had big fish break my leader off. First year catching Winters and its been great. Just curious if people are still hooking fish in the lower river.

saw a pic of a dime bright summer with sea lice on it caught on a fly rod i assume it was lower down in the river. it was a hatchery fish.

I swung some flies up in Marmot since the water is a bit smaller. Looking forward to my first steelhead on the fly, perhaps the more aggressive summers will be the ticket.

Marmot is great water. Should be good fishing up there into the summer.

There's fish up and down in that river. However, definitely a lot more wild than hatchery right now. The Sandy does have some big wild fish in it and A LOT of people have been broken off there!

I spent four hours at Oxbow today with no luck. and then headed up river with the same results. Hopefully another push will come in soon. Our friendly ODFW agent had only recorded one native when I spoke to him.
