Yesterday Phil_Bud and I hit the river together. We had the option of heading below Grants Pass, where it would most likely be extremely crowed but plenty of fish, or head to the upper river where there would be less people and fish. We opted to avoid the crowds, and hit the section we had the most confidence in.
The story was pretty much a repeat through out the day. Put plugs out in fishy spot, wait for rod to pound down, and congratulate each other with a Fish On! or sulk with a Fish Off! So instead of boring you with the same thing over and over again, I'll let the pictures tell the story.
The sun peaked out from behind the hills and produced the first fish of the day.
Releasing her to continue on her journey.
Another clean release of a colored up summer hen.
A summer kelt heading back to the big blue.
Hoping to see her next year.
Finally found that winter steelie we were chasing.
Another shot of winter chrome
Double digit winter hen.
Making sure she has the chance to pass on the big genes.
All the credit goes to Phil, who did an amazing job behind the sticks and put us on all the fish. Final tally for the day was 7-11, and we couldn't have asked for a better day.
Fishing with confidence paid off big.
