i am going to the nestucca this weekend i will be camping at woods campground in pachific city, i have never fished that area before and need advice on spots and gear anything helps

on gear I would have to say a summer is a summer is a summer they are all the same no matter what river.Fish the same looking water you would on any river for summers and use what you know best.

what about salmon gear? i am going to atempt to catch both haha, but i am looking to target nooks more than steelies

eggs shrimp and spinners.can't go wrong with those when comes to the nooks.Never been to that river but just like steelhead its a springer just like any other river and if me I would fish deeper pools early and late and fast oxygen water while sun out.Thats just me but seems to work.

i would use a thin leader,small float and a purple or black jig with a pink or orange head for steelhead

thanks for the advice, i have only fished the river once and have only ever hooked one springer, and i have never landed a summer either tho i have hooked five on the siletz

Honestly, I have pounded some of the best holes on the river since mid may and only hooked one and my girlfriend the same...everyone I talked to said it wasn't that good..however last weekend even though we didn't hook crap there were a bunch of fish rolling from three rivers down but they sure would not bite...good luck...
